How is magnesium oil different to powders & pills?

How often can I use the magnesium oil?

One of the best things about topical magnesium supplementation is your body will self regulate and only absorb what is needed. So ensure you have a good covering of the area you are applying to and let your body do the rest. You can apply as many times throughout the day as you need, We recommend the evening before bed as a non-negotiable. Unlike oral supplementation (powders or pills) you cannot overuse magnesium oil, your body will self regulate and absorb as much or as little as needed. So apply Salt Lab every night, or as often as required.

What is the percentage of magnesium in your spray?

You receive 400mg of magnesium chloride per 1ml of Salt Lab.

When can I start to see results?

Everyone is different with the time frame to see results, it can be as quick as overnight however, it can also take a month or so. Keep in mind we do not become deficient overnight and similarly we do not replenish overnight. Magnesium is a mineral we burn through all day everyday so consistency is key. We recommend applying the oil every night before bed.

Why does magnesium oil sting, tingle, itch when applied to the skin?

This can be a clear sign of magnesium deficiency, don’t let this deter you, the high concentrate of Salt Lab will have this cured in no time. You can dilute with water (60:40), or add some coconut oil after application to make this tingle a little less uncomfortable without missing out on the benefits.

Does magnesium oil have a scent?

What is the ‘oil’ In magnesium?

The name ‘magnesium oil’ comes from the texture of this mineral-saturated solution, it is often described as “oil-like”, there is actually no ‘oil’ in the product. Magnesium oil is a water based product therefore dries quickly without leaving oily marks.

Can magnesium oil be used throughout pregnancy?

Definitely! There are no nasties in our products, it is all natural and is safe for you and your bub throughout pregnancy and post pregnancy. Not only will it help with the aches and pains our bodies experience during pregnancy, it will help with ensuring you get a good night sleep and can be applied directly to your sore areas (ie: lower back or the dreaded calf cramps). Magnesium is an essential mineral to support the growth of a healthy bub and our need for this mineral increases when we are pregnant. As all pregnancies are different we always recommend consulting your GP prior to using any supplements to ensure it is right for you.

Can I use magnesium oil on my children?

Yes! All products are safe to use on your little ones from 3 months old and older. They are amazing as they will help them relax during the evening after a busy day and for those growing pains and general magnesium replenishment. We recommend 2 ways to introduce the oil to their body. 1. We recommend diluting the formula with water slightly begin with (50:50) apply to their feet for around 2 weeks at this strength. You can then build-up to the full formula and apply it to their stomach and feet at night before bed. 2. You can start by applying the full-strength Magnesium Oil to their feet only for around 3 weeks. This gives their bodies time to adjust. Then after this introduction period, you can apply it to their stomach as well. If there is any tingling or itching, dilute slightly with water.
