A cosy, golden-baked dessert with soft spiced pears and a nutty almond crumble topping. Naturally rich in magnesium and perfect for slow autumn evenings.
Ingredients
Filling

4 ripe pears (sliced)

1–2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

1 tsp lemon juice
Crumble Topping
-
1 cup rolled oats
-
½ cup almonds (crushed or roughly chopped)

2–3 tbsp coconut oil (or butter, melted)
-
2 tbsp maple syrup
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
Pinch of salt
Optional magnesium boost

2 tbsp pumpkin seeds (sprinkled on top before baking or serving)
Method
1. Preheat & prep
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Lightly grease a baking dish.
2. Prepare the pear filling
In a bowl, toss sliced pears with:

maple syrup

cinnamon
-
vanilla
-
lemon juice
-
nutmeg (if using)
Spread evenly into your baking dish.
3. Make the crumble topping
In a separate bowl, mix:

oats
-
crushed almonds
-
cinnamon
-
salt
-
maple syrup
-
melted coconut oil
Stir until the mixture becomes crumbly and slightly sticky.
4. Assemble
Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the pear layer. Don’t press it down — keep it loose and rustic.
Add pumpkin seeds on top if using.
5. Bake
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the pears are bubbling underneath.
To serve
Serve warm with:
